Road Opener Spell

WHAT'S A ROAD OPENER SPELL?

A Road Opener is the gatekeeper to the spirit world. In Yoruba and Santeria Religions, the gatekeeper is Eleggua and in Creole and Voudou Religion, the gatekeeper is Papa Legba. Before, you can petition an Orisha or a Lwa, you must first petition the gatekeeper. A road opener, also known as a road opening, is a formula used in conjure work that is created from a herb called Eupatorium villosum, or Abre Camino. This name means ‘opening road’ or ‘road opener.’ It cannot be a true road opener without this

Eleggua/Eshu

Eleggua is the most important orisha in Santeria. He opens the way and allows ache to flow in the universe.

Eleggua (also spelled Elegua, Elewa, Elegba or Legba) is the most important of the Orishas in Santeria. Elegua was the first Orisha created by Olodumare and he existed prior to and witnessed creation unfold. He is the key to any of our religious practices, for without Elegua’s blessings nothing can proceed, transpire nor succeed in the world. Eleggua is the owner of all roads, crossroads, and doors. He is the power that allows all of the ache in the universe to move from point A to point B. Elegba allows our prayers to reach the orishas. Elegba allows ache to flow in ebó so that our fate may be changed. He facilitates divination (diloggun, obi, okuele or any other form of divination) by communicating to and for the other orishas, and to Olodumare herself.

Papa Legba is a lwa in Haitian Voudon who serves as the intermediary between the loa and humanity. He stands at a spiritual crossroads and gives (or denies) permission to speak with the spirits of Guinee, and is believed to speak all human languages. In Haiti, he is the great elocutioner. Legba facilitates communication, speech, and understanding.

Papa Legba appears in many forms in New Orleans Voodoo and Haitian Vodou. He is typically depicted as an older man, sometimes wearing a straw hat or old tattered clothing, walking with a cane, and accompanied by a dog. He's associated with the colors black and red.

Papa Legba is a master communicator, who is said to speak the languages of all human beings; he then translates petitions and delivers them to the loa. He is a teacher and warrior, but also a trickster deity. Legba is a remover of obstacles, and can be consulted to help find new, positive opportunities, thanks to his ability to open doors and new roads.

The Road Opener Spell

Spell on parchment paper burning the intentions to the universe

On a piece of parchment paper or solid white paper write your intentions, fold 3 times and place under the candle.

Light the candle and recite 3 x's:

I pray unto my ancestors known and unknown. Please help guide me in my right direction and unlock the blockages to the right path for me.

I invoke the sublime influence of the eternal father to obtain success. Guide me in all the subjects of my life and smooth all difficulties that are in my way.

I invoke the aid of the Holy Spirit, so that my house prospers and my company and my person receive a message of good luck, sent by the divine providence.

Oh great hidden power, I implore your supreme majesty, so that you separate me from danger, at the precise moment. That my way is illuminated by the light of fortune and I shall receive the infinite blessing of the sky.

I shall not want!

I believe in God, the all powerful Father, Amen!

Calling upon Eleggua or Papa Legba, who are not the same spirits nor do they negotiate with the same spirits have their own rituals. I will write a blog on this one day but it would be from the standpoint of a non initiative. What I can tell you is that petitioning the gatekeepers Eleggua or Papa Legba is a serious life long commitment with very specific rituals. Most are not prepared. So, light the candle, talk to your ancestors and have them open the roads for you. They’re your gatekeepers, they have your love and your blood. You must first petition them and pay homage consistently before you can petition the Orisha Eleggua/Eshu or Papa Legba.

The oils in this candle are for Eleggua & Papa Legba

Offerings to Ellegua are done on Mondays. People pay tribute to him by offering his favorite treats. Such treats consist of cigars, alcohol, coconuts, toasted corn, and more. His colors are red and black, and his number is 3.

Offering to Papa Legba are on Monday’s during the day. Typical offerings might include black coffee, pipe, candy, such as chocolate and other candy, alcohol — particularly dark rum, and pipe tobacco. His color is Black & Red. Some say his number is 3; other say 4.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that when you call upon these spirits, call upon them in the beginning and thank them at the end.

PRAYER TO ELEGUA -YORUBA ORISHA

With the permission of God, the Father, I call upon Elegua.

If you are near and I am worthy of your time, please hear my plead. I am at a crossroad in my life. I don't know where to go or what to do. I have tried everything along my path to move forward and have failed. All the doors of my life have been shut tight. I continue to move on only to face the same obstacles and rejections. Perhaps, this has to do with my karma or life lessons I must face. If it is, let it be God's will. However, if it is not karma or a life lesson, help me open the doors in front of me that are keeping me away from my true destiny. God has blessed you to be the keeper of the keys to all life doors. Please open the door(s) and allow me to move forward. Please guide me to find my true path. In you, I place my trust, for you are one of God's beloved messenger.

Amen

Pay Homage To Your Ancestors

HOMAGE IS HONOURING OUR ANCESTORS AND/OR THE ONES WE PRAY TO.

To pay homage to your ancestors, you need to make an alter in a quiet room with little to no traffic. It’s best to cover the alter in a white cloth. You may or may not have pictures of your favor ancestors. On a Monday, Offer them a glass of water. Say the Lords Prayer, Ask your spirit guides to show themselves. Speak to them as if they’re alive. Tell them your problems and ask them for help to resolve them. This allows positive spirits to enter your realm while banishing the lower negative spirits. Bring them coffee, make them a meal with the food THEY used to eat. Bring them tobacco and a shot glass of liquor. Leave this on the alter until the candle burns out. Paying homage to your ancestors should be consistent. It’s recommended every Monday but if it’s once a month make sure it’s consistent. Don’t take advantage of your ancestors and don’t anger them. Don’t take asking your spirits for help lightly.

We cannot ask our ancestors for help without paying homage. Click the link to view the procedure on homage.
